Warriors make it 23-0 and edge closer to Lakers record

Where this will get confusing is when the National Basketball Association spends the week leading up to Golden State’s Finals rematch against the Cleveland Cavaliers at Oracle Arena in Oakland, Calif., trumpeting that game as the one that will tie the all-time wins record for the Lakers – all while the Warriors would win only their 29th game if they come away victorious. That cuts the deficit to seven, but more importantly, Thompson lands awkwardly on his ankle going for the rebound, and limps over to the bench.

But I’ll say that I don’t think that’s at all a factor with the Warriors right now.

If and when there’s an L, the Warriors could win another 20+ in a row and in fact at this point I would expect that out of this group. Only two other teams have ever won their first 10 road games of a season – Boston Celtics in 1960/61 and 1961/62 – and they, like the “69/70 Knicks, went on to win the championship that season”.
