Warriors make National Basketball Association history as first team to start season 16-0
There was no champagne in the Golden State Warriors locker room Tuesday night.
The Los Angeles Lakers were thoroughly outclassed by the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday night, losing in a blowout to the NBA’s unbeaten defending champs by a score of 111-77.
It means the Warriors have broken the record they previously shared with the 1993-94 Houston Rockets and 1948-49 Washington Capitals.
“We went by and congratulated each player”, Walton said. “They are in the history books”.
Walton referred to the 16-game winning streak as a “mini goal”. “We were blowing coverages defensively and coming down offensively not having a concept of what we were trying to do”. For a team as historically great as these Golden State Warriors, anything less than a dominant postseason run and ensuing title repeat would be a massive disappointment.
“We went by and congratulated each player”.
Though it took four attempts for the fan to hit the three, his one trey was more than the Lakers accounted for in the entire first quarter.
Golden State’s 27-year-old star point guard Stephen Curry scored 24 points and produced nine assists in 30 minutes.
Pacers 123, Wizards 106 – Paul George scored a season-high 40 points and made seven 3-pointers, part of a franchise-record 19 by Indiana. The Lakers missed 16 of 21 shots.
The Golden State Warriors are introduced before their game against the Los Angeles Lakers in Oakland on Tuesday, November 24, 2015. That’s skewed somewhat by a 50-point rout of Memphis on November 2, but still, they won all but five games by double digits. The Lakers were able to convert three turnovers into seven points. His floating jumper stretched Chicago’s lead to 78-65 early in the fourth quarter, but Portland rallied within 78-76 on Ed Davis’ tip shot.
“I could have scored 80 tonight, it wouldn’t have made a difference”, Bryant said. “There’s not a lot of opportunity and there’s a lot of violence in that city, so to see another person to come out of Saginaw and do great…I’m just so proud of Draymond”.
The Lakers are not a good basketball team. In each round, they seemed to take a game or two to figure out exactly how to take down their opponent. I don’t care who you are. “They just care about winning”.
Kobe Bryant had had an very bad night. The ball ricocheted to Andrew Bogut, who passed ahead to Curry.
Dirk Nowitzki finished with 14 points and Zaza Pachulia had 13, and each also grabbed 10 rebounds. At some point the tough schedule will catch up with them. No. But am I going to say it’s not possible?
“I guess it puts it into perspective”.
“Nobody really talked about the 15-0 until probably last week when we were around 11 or 12 wins”. Lakers rookie D’Angelo Russell and almost-rookie Julius Randle combined to help cut the 22-point lead down to only 16 points by halftime. The Suns are now tied for second place in the Pacific Division with the Los Angeles Clippers.
It’s strangely unfortunate that the game was over eight minutes after tip-off.
