Warriors rally for revenge over Bucks
Milwaukee, an under-.500 Eastern Conference team, broke the streak and beat the Warriors on Saturday after Golden State had arrived in Wisconsin at 3 a.m. following a double-overtime win in Boston. The Bucks won’t have center Greg Monroe this time around either.
Golden State exacted revenge for Milwaukee’s 108-95 win last Saturday – the Warriors only loss of the season to date – but they had to scratch and claw for a 121-112 win Friday night at Oracle Arena.
But shooting guard Klay Thompson had a game-high 27 points and Stephen Curry added 26 along with 10 rebounds and nine assists as the Warriors notched their 30th straight regular-season home win and their 12th this season.
It didn’t come easy, as Golden State trailed by as many as 15 points in the third quarter and by 11 points with less than eight minutes to play before Green and Curry took over to improve Golden State to 26-1.
However, the Warriors charged back on the back of Draymond Green, and they finished the job with clutch play after clutch play down the stretch.
“I’m not satisfied ’cause I thought we should have been better”, Green stated. They felt great even before that game began, as evident by a crowd of fans wearing shirts that read “24-1” to commemorate the imminent loss. “I’m proud of my guys”.
Giannis returned to the starting five and scored on consecutive dunks to get the Bucks off to a good start, and from there on out it was the MCW show in the first quarter.
Warriors interim coach Luke Walton shook his head a little when asked if he was bothered by Carter-Williams’ antics.
Walton said that wasn’t exactly the case. From the smallest intricacies in an individual player’s games to the strategies employed by coaches and their teams, I’ll put it all under the microscope to decide what’s worth believing in, and what simply isn’t going to work out.
Kerr has been on a medical leave of absence all season because of complications from two back surgeries last summer.
“The issue is: If you push it, (the pain) comes back at 100 per cent and you’re back at square one”. They went to the line 21 times and controlled the pace.
The Warriors survived despite allowing 70 points in the first half, the most any team has scored in any half against them this season — and the most Milwaukee has score in any half this season.
Despite losing their first game of the season, the Warriors did not lose any momentum.
Butler was so very almost the hero for the Bulls.
Chicago’s Jimmy Butler, who scored a career-high 43 points, nailed an off-balance 3-pointer to cut it to 145-144 with 4.7 seconds left.
The Bulls immediately fouled Reggie Jackson, who made both free throws.
