Warriors up to 23-0, counting after beating Pacers
The Celtics are looking to halt the Warriors 27-game winning streak and they have what it takes to do it even though they have no clear superstar in their roster.
According to ESPN’s Basketball Power Index, the Warriors have a 68 percent chance to beat the Celtics and a 34 percent chance to win their next seven games and break the 1971-72 Lakers record for longest win streak in NBA history (33 games). “That is awesome. You could see the look in his eyes”. The team’s most important player, Draymond Green, had possibly his worst game of the season, and it didn’t budge the Warriors one bit. Anywhere sports are being discussed, that’s where you’ll find him.
Klay Thompson was the brightest star Tuesday night at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, going 13-of-21 from the field – including 10-of-16 from 3-point range – and 3-of-3 from the free-throw line to finish with 39 points.
The league said Bradley Beal traveled on the play where he passed to Gary Neal for a 3-pointer with just over a minute left in Miami on Monday night.
ABOUT THE WARRIORS (23-0, 16-7 ATS, 14-9 O/U): Losing Thompson would mean that Golden State is without two of its top three scorers, since forward Harrison Barnes is expected to miss his seventh straight contest with an ankle injury. He caught it without either Heat player touching it first, and then passed to Neal in the right corner. It’s also worth noting that the Celtics are averaging over 11.5 steals per game led by Jae Crowder’s 2.1, while the Warriors average 8.3.
“We”re obviously going to be cautious with it,” Warriors interim head coach Luke Walton said.
“I think Steph will be the first to admit, Isaiah, when he was with Sacramento, his quickness was always a tough matchup for Steph”, Lee said.
George finished with 33 points as the Pacers reduced the Warriors’ lead in the fourth quarter. “They haven’t lost a game and they’re the reigning champions”, Stevens said.
Here is a look at the Warriors schedule, and NBA TV may also provide live in-game coverage during nightly broadcasts.
The Warriors remained unscathed after its games against the Pacers and the Raptors, which are the best teams (record-wise) that they’ll face before they play the Cleveland Cavaliers on Christmas Day. Pacers’ G Monta Ellis played for Golden State from 2005-2012, averaging 19.6 points in 413 games, including 334 starts. The Boston Celtics have won four straight home games.
