Washington presidential elector joins anti-Trump movement

Clearly, these people do not understand that the Electoral College is the most undemocratic part of our democracy.

Democrat Hillary Clinton will not be the next US president, but her popular vote lead over President-elect Donald Trump continues to expand in late ballot counting.

So who are these electors? The electoral votes are then sealed and transmitted from each state to the President of the Senate who, on the following January 6, opens and reads them before both houses of Congress. This excludes Nebraska and ME, which each use a proportional system based on Congressional districts.

“Electors are pledging to put America first and vote for a responsible Republican alternative who can unify our country”.

State law determines how the names of the electors are chosen. It’s usually a symbolic process, as electors generally vote according to the results of the popular vote in their states. He has 306 Electoral College votes to Clinton’s 232.

The Electoral College leaves out the votes of millions of Americans living within the 50 states, but what about the millions of American citizens that reside outside of the fifty states.

Aside from those contests, all of the other election winners of the last 100 years won by a larger margin than the current president-elect. The National Archives and Records Administration elaborates on this issue on their website.

Truism: The President has not always been the victor of the popular vote. The political party in each state makes the rules for that state.
