Tears continued to flow during Gwen Stefani’s performance of “Used to Love You”, an emotional ballad about her breakup with her husband of 13 years, Gavin Rossdale. It was lovely, peaceful and unforgettable.
Key winners on the night included Taylor Swift, who went into the night with a leading six nominations and won three awards but did not attend the event. Earlier, she encouraged her feverish fans to “find their voice” when accepting favorite album – rap/hip-hop for “The Pinkprint”, beating out Drake and J. Cole.
