Watch Daniel Craig Refuse To Pout In This ‘Spectre’ Interview
DANIEL CRAIG: [Thinks for a short while.] Nothing. Connery would play Bond in five further authorized films, before returning from a 12-year hiatus to star in the unofficial “Never Say Never Again” in 1983.
“That, for me, is the most important thing but I’ve also managed to make the movies, which are also incredibly important to me”.
But asked if he had made a decision about continuing as Bond, Craig said: “No – this is what’s going on at the moment”.
Powell isn’t just a radio personality and showbiz correspondent; she’s also a comedienne, which would mean that there’s a chance that her idea of an “interview” was in fact a hoax she prepared for Craig, or a few kind of joke.
After getting a sneaky little peek at Spectre last night, ahead of the movie’s release, Sarah had plenty of questions to fire at Mr Craig. “It’s a real opportunity, it’s a huge thing”. I don’t want to think about Bond!’…
Directed by Sam Mendes, Craig is joined by Ralph Fiennes, Christoph Waltz, Monica Bellucci, Léa Seydoux and Stephanie Sigman, Naomie Harris and Ben Whishaw while British award-winning singer Sam Smith will sing the official soundtrack entitled “Writing’s on the Wall”.
But then Craig, already seeming unimpressed by her line of questioning, simply said, “I think you need to move on”.
It’s possible that Spectre will be the final film with Craig as Bond, so fans should experience the film in theaters while they can. “There’s no other way of doing it. My family hate me”, he said. I would have been totally at peace with it…but they didnt.
This is the fourth time Craig has appeared as James Bond and despite previously saying he would rather “slit my wrists” than do a fifth film, the star said he is yet to make his mind up.
“I was aware of that (the loss of privacy) going in and I’ve remained as private as I possibly can”.
Spectre is expected to storm the box office when it opens in United Kingdom cinemas on 26 October before opening in the U.S. on 6 November.
