WATCH Group Releases List Of 10 Most Hazardous Toys
Consumer advocacy group World Against Toys Causing Harm released its annual list of what it has nominated as the worst toys of the year – just in time for holiday shopping.
That means consumer watchdog groups are coming out with their annual lists of toys they say could be risky for your kids.
“Jurassic Park” dinosaur claws are the year’s most unsafe toy.
The list highlights a set of Jurassic World Velociraptor Claws manufactured by Hasbro, disembodied foam arms from the predatory dinosaur for children 4-years old and up.
Another toy on the list is a quick-folding trampoline. W.A.T.C.H. says the packaging provides “no warnings or cautions are provided regarding the potential for eye and facial injuries”.
As with all toys, even those not on this list, it is best to read the label before allowing any children to play with them.
He added a whimsical modeling-clay substance called Poo-Dough because, according to the product’s allergy warning, it contains wheat.
The Toy Industry Association said the industry is meeting or exceeding stringent federal safety standards, and that W.A.T.C.H. and other toy-safety watchdog groups routinely have misrepresented their products.
“These lists…aren’t really helpful to consumers”, said Toy Industry Association CEO and President Steve Pasierb.
“All the toys sold in the United States need to comply with very strict USA product safety requirements and they need to tested and certified compliant with these requirements”, Mond said. Potential for blunt force injuries; by Playmates global Company.
