Watch LeSean McCoy leave field, throw helmet after loss to Eagles
McCoy, who was Buffalo’s only captain for the game, kissed the Eagles’ logo at midfield before kickoff.
Hampered by a pair of penalties, Buffalo combined for minus-2 yards net offense on its final two possessions, failing to put the Bills in a position to attempt a game-tying field goal.
He was the first player off the field after the game, sprinting toward the locker room immediately when the clock expired and slammed his helmet into the wall.
“You’re always going to have calls you disagree with, but the officials, that crew in particular is an outstanding crew and I’m sure they got it right”.
Losing to the Eagles put the Bills in dire straits in terms of earning a playoff birth, as they are now 6-7 and two full games behind the Chiefs and Jets for a wild card spot.
Unfortunately, immediately after the game, while still fuming from their third loss in four games and falling completely out of the playoff picture, the Bills coaches did not see things that way. Tyrod Taylor tried to keep the drive alive, but Ed Reynolds intercepted his pass sealing the deal for the Philadelphia Eagles. Then Bradford threw a 53-yard touchdown pass to Nelson Agholor. “I think everyone did a great job of just staying focused and not letting any of that add anything extra to the game”, he said. That being said, Kelly’s reluctance to retaliate this week never stopped McCoy’s ego from turning their first game against one another into the title bout at Summerslam. He’s not even the starter, and Kelly didn’t toss him any bones just to calm the narrative of the last week.
Perhaps Bradford’s progress can be tied to his increasing familiarity with the Eagles’ scheme. After the field goal, the Eagles’ defense stopped the Bills twice to hold on for the win.
“I’m ok with LeSean, you know, speaking his mind and things like that”, Ryan said. And he missed two games with a back injury.
“We had 15 penalties”.
“It’s very fair because I think when you look at defensive tackles, you’re either going to get a guy who’s a run stopper or a guy who’s a pass rusher”, Joyner said. And when we got Sam, we knew with any quarterback it’s going to take time.
But a stunning 35-28 win at New England changed everything. They control their hopes.
It wasn’t pretty but, at this point, the Eagles will take wins however they come. Ultimately, of course, the loss probably irritated him the most. Ryan Mathews started for the Eagles and finished with 38 yards on 13 carries. NFL Network had reported that he had fallen to fourth on the Eagles’ depth chart, but he basically rotated with Ryan Mathews and Darren Sproles.
Bradford has played well in his last couple of starts, and seems to be on a path towards getting a new contract with the team for next season and beyond. Bryan Braman recovered Marcus Thigpen’s fumble at the Buffalo 37. One of those was Sam Bradford, who could be rewriting his future with the Eagles.
Multiple reports say it was Thurman with the line you hear: “That’s a disgrace to the National Football League”. “It looked like he was a step faster than I remembered him”.
But the Bills didn’t win for McCoy, nor for themselves. He is the first Bills receiver with 40-yard catches in three straight games since Terrell Owens in 2009. Sammy Watkins also caught five balls – including a touchdown.
