Watch Out, Zayn: One Direction’s Niall Horan Drops Debut Solo Single
Niall Horan became the first member of One Direction to drop a solo single after This Town was released on Thursday.
After weeks and weeks of rumours, it has been officially confirmed that Niall Horan has signed a solo deal with Capitol Records. While pervasive rumors hinted Harry Styles would be the first one to release his own dad-rock jams, both Zayn Malik and Niall Horan beat him to the punch.
And adding to the rumour mill that new music is expected soon – Niall, 23, already has a solo page on Apple Music and Spotify.
On Twitter, Louis Tomlinson congratulated Niall on the single, saying, “Feeling super proud [Niall]”.
Zayn Malik, who left the band in March previous year, has had the most prominent solo career.
Harry, Louis, Niall, and Liam are now on a hiatus to explore their own interests and pursue solo projects and it comes as no surprise that they’d still want to be connected to music.
Last November, Horan and the rest of One Direction released “Made in the A.M”.
“[Louis] has just signed a deal with us as an imprint of a record label”, he said.
“All artists now release their new singles on Friday but Niall has deliberately gone one day before to make his launch an event in itself”.
‘I obviously just wanted to let people know what I’m doing, that I am working on music.
The acoustic song reflects on the things Horan never got to say to a lost lover.
The key lyrics of the song are, “Over and over the only truth/Everything comes back to you”.
