“Michelle said that Barack will want to take a walk by himself outside while the president said Michelle is ‘going to want to travel and roam around the world in ways that we can’t do when traveling in official capacities'”.
As far as the big game itself, he noted that the family watches the Super Bowl “with a regular group of friends” at the White House.
“I’m not telling you my pick – because the Bears aren’t in it”, Obama said. “We clear everything out, and it’s you know your basic wings, pizza, nachos, guac”.
And just like at your Super Bowl party, “Folks rate the commercials”, the president said, gesturing a thumbs up and down. “If you are in that room then you are watching the game”. “Then there’s the outside room where the kids are, where they’re kind of fooling around there by the food”.
“There’s what I call the Champagne Room”, the first lady said.
“I love it when he…”, she asked, as Michelle Obama said: “Holds my hand”. “I got dressed for the half-time show”.
Michelle added that she care’s “deeply about the the halftime show. deeply”.
King preceded to get to know the Obamas on a personal level.
King asked the couple if they had any advice for the incoming first family, asking if ‘the water pressure good?
Later in the interview, King pulled out a touching photo of the Obamas at their first inauguration in January 2009 and asked what they were both thinking at the time of the photo.
Obama, speaking with his wife, Michelle, told CBS News’ Gayle King that they were trying to improve the estate’s WiFi before leaving because there were still dead spots in the building.
