Watch Samuel L. Jackson put his own spin on famous movie quotes
Each of those movie lines was elevated immeasurably by the indelible performances of the one and only Samuel L. Jackson. That ability was put to the test last night during the actor’s appearance on “The Late Show”, to hilarious results.
He joined The Late Show with Stephen Colbert recently to chat about his new movie, The Hateful Eight. “Okay, all right! So I’m definitely not dying right now!’ Then somebody came in with a haliburton full of lightsaber handles and said ‘pick one, ‘ and I about died”. They’re famous catchphrases. They’re pre-Samuel L. Jackson, but I believe that if you perform these in your own inimitable way, they will be yours forever, regardless of how they originated.
Jackson can make literally anything sound cool.
Taking some lines in a soulful new direction, charging others with his trademark fury, Jackson laid claim to famous soundbites from The Graduate, The Lion King, and most hilariously, Dirty Dancing.
Colbert took further advantage of Jackson’s voice and asked the actor to record his outgoing voicemail message. But how’s this for a million-dollar idea: start selling recordings of Jackson doing table reads of classic scripts, but he does all the voices. Point is, you’ve done what you can.
