Watch the brand new LEGO Dimensions story trailer – ‘Unexpected Worlds Collide’

A new “Lego Dimensions” trailer has been released, and this time it actually involves the main story of the game and how all these characters from different franchises meet each other.

So what’s going on in ‘Lego Dimensions, ‘ anyway?

Lego Dimensions will mix together 14 Lego worlds including DC Comics, The Lord of the Rings, The Wizard of Oz, Back to the Future, Scooby-Doo, Doctor Who, Jurassic World, Ghostbusters, The Simpsons, Portal, Lego Ninjago, Lego Chima, and The Lego Movie. It finally goes into what is happening in the game and why all these universes are colliding. As they journey to locations beyond their wildest imaginations in search of their friends, they soon realize that Lord Vortech is summoning villains from across different LEGO worlds to help him gain control.

All of the bad stuff happening in LEGO Dimensions is the work of one Lord Vortech, who is determined to control the entire multiverse by gathering all of the Foundational Elements that the planet at the center of the multiverse is built upon. But while the baddies he summons are willing to help, the heroes rebel, joining forces to defeat him. While the game is playable with exclusive Batman, Gandalf, and Wyldstyle, expansion packs will add new LEGO to play with, as well, with each introducing their own unique abilities. The fact that Gandalf is sucked away from arguably one of the most dramatic moments in cinema and print history only to be paired up with Batman is just priceless.
