The concert is set to kick off at 4 p.m. with Coldplay, whose frontman Chris Martin has also signed on as the curator of the festival for the next 15 years. The 48-year-old Nashville actress was lighting up the famed building to celebrate and honor the 2015 Global Citizen Festival & mark the United Nations new Global Objectives for Sustainable Development.
If you can’t make it out to Central Park, check out the full live stream above from MSNBC! The concert is a way for the music industry to bring awareness to those issues as well as reward fans with free tickets to an exclusive performance from some of the biggest stars in the industry.
A number of celebrities are also expected at tonight’s event, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Stephen Colbert, Kerry Washington, Katie Holmes, Hugh Jackman and Selma Hayak.
Evans has said that with global support of the event’s goals extreme poverty could be eliminated by 2030.
