Watch The Opening Scene From Fear The Walking Dead
‘Fear the Walking Dead’ will infect AMC on Sunday August 22nd, 2015 at 9 PM EST.
Heres how producer and special effects wizard Greg Nicotero put it in the episode commentary on Walking Dead Season 5 Blu-ray, out later this month.
Fear the Walking Dead and TWD will have some major differences. Manawa works as an English teacher in the same high school where Clark is a guidance counselor. But since there’s no escaping the power of AMC’s monster hit “The Walking Dead”, which was going to get a spinoff sooner or later, Madison’s just going to have to deal with it.
It’s a prequel: “The Walking Dead” viewers found themselves in the midst of a zombie apocalypse when comatose Rick Grimes opened his eyes in a deserted hospital room. The series is now set to go for two seasons. “And that’s OK”. Their recent vintage makes them appear less decayed – and less different to the living – than the walkers of the original series. “Are they infected to a degree they won’t return, or can it be mended?” “Los Angeles obviously is very spread out”. This isn’t glitzy Hollywood or entitled Malibu getting its comeuppance; it’s a hard-working, ethnically diverse community where residents cope with challenges familiar in urban America. They are joined by the former’s two kids, drug-addict Nick (Frank Dillane) and ambitious Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey). Orange is the New Black star Elizabeth Rodriguez, Ruben Blades and Mercedes Mason also round out the ensemble, which recently picked up Southland’s Shawn Hatosy. We don’t really expect that it will be anywhere close to the original series, but so long as it generates solid ratings and the numbers for the flagship show stay relatively steady, all will be fine. The waking nightmare he’s destined to encounter is from the menace that’s descending on the city, not just his addiction. Check out the first scene of the series right now! “I think it actually may be even more suspenseful and a bit more scary in the beginning”, she said, citing the spin-off’s slow-burn approach. Here’s hoping it can live up to the promise it shows in its pilot episode. “That’s a lot harder to do than be some messed-up guy caught up in his own angst”. Our characters do not and that creates a tension and a sense of dread in the viewing experience that I think is unique to our show, and very exciting.
