Watch us make a level in Super Mario Maker
Nintendo trots out Mario more than Apple uses hyperbole. A few days ago Nintendo announced a Super Mario Maker bundle that will be exclusive to Walmart in the United States. Out of these five, I think my personal favorite is “Super Shmup Bros.,” which transforms Mario’s traditional platforming antics into an auto-scrolling shooter.
“From Super Mario to The Legend of Zelda, Star Fox to Animal Crossing, Nintendo has a robust line up of hardware and software bundles, games and amiibo offerings to ensure unforgettable gameplay experiences in the lead up to, and beyond Christmas”.
Yup, players who’ve already got their hands on Mario Maker have used Nintendo’s Super Mario Bros. level-creation game to force unsuspecting players to listen to the classic ’80s pop song, and it’s an instant pick-me-up. It actually reminded me quite a bit of the shooting sections of Super Mario Land, and I love that someone brought the idea back to the Mario series. You’re not convinced, are you? A Walmart employee recently leaked a shelf plan for upcoming amiibo releases, where we can see standalone Modern Mario amiibos have been allotted shelf space.
According to the information via Nintendo Everything, the game will be launched on September 11.
