Watch Zac Efron Struggle to Remember ‘High School Musical’ Lyrics

High School Musical is his past, and movies about struggling EDM DJs are his present. He’s now dating Sami Miro, and when asked if he believed in love at first sight at the premiere of We Are Your Friends on August. 20, Efron told ET, “100 percent”.

Efron was promoting his new movie “We Are Your Friends” with director Max Joseph and co-star Emily Ratajkowski when a Cosmopolitan UK reporter played a “Guess the song” game with them. Joseph on the other hand immediately guessed Justice Vs Simian’s “We Are Your Friends”.

Now not recalling the names of some of the songs from the sequels and the group songs we’d understand, as Zac points out there were three movies and that equals a lot of songs, but come on Efron, “Breaking Free” was the song.

If you remember, there’s a classic scene where Efron (Troy Bolton) and his real-life ex and on-screen love Vanessa Hudgens (Gabriella Montez) sing “Breaking Free” to their peers. Efron said yes, admitting it was him singing, but then he followed it with “Holly Cow!”

High School Musical fans, you may want to take a deep breath.

For the record, they also had no idea what One Direction’s “Steal My Girl” was either.

After making several incorrect guesses, the hunky heartthrob really began racking his brain before eventually guessing correctly with Breaking Free.
