Watford humbled by Preston in League Cup shocker

Manchester United will play Championship side Ipswich Town in the Capital One Cup.

The north London derby is the standout fixture to come out of Tuesday night’s third round draw.

Ghanaian forward Joe Dodoo, 20, hit a debut hat-trick as Leicester maintained their flying start to the season with a 4-1 win at third tier Bury.

It will be interesting to see how numerous first team regulars for both clubs take the field, given their rivals like Manchester United and Liverpool have been handed kinder draws against lower league opponents.

And in another shock, WALSALL knocked out previously unbeaten Championship side BRIGHTON 2-1 at the Banks’s Stadium with teenage defender Rico Henry grabbing the priceless victor.

As a result, the capital’s biggest teams; Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham and West Ham, will enter the competition for the first time and, with no seeding in place, could be paired against eachother. The West London side are five-time winners of the trophy, winning it three times in the last decade (2005, 2007 and 2015).
