Watson Can Make a Final Heisman Statement at ACC Title Game

This is the weekend that Clemson and SC fans look forward to all year.

Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson and the third-ranked Tigers won their division. With a playoff spot still there for the taking for Clemson, catching an even more motivated-than-usual in-state rival for a night game in their building was not ideal for the Gamecocks.

According to a story appearing in The State newspaper, SC linebacker Bryson Allen-Williams made the accusation after Clemson’s 56-7 victory.

Virginia Tech running back Sam Rogers gained a career high 105 yards and two touchdowns in the Hokies’ 52-10 win over Virginia, its 13th straight win in the rivalry.

Clemson (11-1) is facing Virginia Tech Saturday in the ACC Championship Game in Orlando, while USC (6-6) awaits its bowl destination revealed next Sunday. They’re still in the top 10 in both offensive and defense S&P+, so even if they’re not quite on the same level as past year, they’re still incredibly unsafe.

Not a surprise given that they are young, but it has hurt this team in the run game. The passing game is just as good if not a smidge better, but that doesn’t make up for OL play.
