Wayne Rooney: ‘I never handed in transfer request’
Wayne Rooney’s strength is his mentality and his constant desire to score goals for either Manchester United or England.
Towards the end of Ferguson’s tenure Rooney Ferguson he wanted to quit Old Trafford but never tendered a formal transfer request.
It’s set to air on BBC One on October 5.
But Gary Lineker is about to change all that with a behind-the-scenes look at Rooney’s life away from football.

He said: “If I could go back in time, I would probably have sat out the World Cup in Germany”.
Rooney burst on to the worldwide scene at Euro 2004 but has subsequently struggled to hit the same heights, and believes it is down to the expectancy he puts on himself.
“I go into tournaments and I am always confident, but for some reason it hasn’t happened”.
In 2010 in South Africa, England were booed off the pitch at Cape Town after the goalless draw against Algeria, with Rooney showing his frustration.
But he performed a U-turn and signed a new deal and insists Fergie remains the best boss of all time.
“I’ve broken the record and now I want to achieve the pinnacle like Charlton”. “Just that I expected a bit more [from him]”.
“He was the reason why I wanted to join Man United, to work with him”, Rooney says.
Asked about his relationship with Ferguson, which is understood to have improved in the past two years, Rooney says: “It is not just me who has had a fall-out with Alex Ferguson”.
