‘Wazir’ failed to check-mate the box-office on opening day
The film, which also stars Aditi Rao Hydari, Neil Nitin Mukesh and John Abraham among others, tells the story of two unusual friends – a paralysed chess grandmaster (Amitabh) and a grief stricken ATS officer (Farhan). The first release of 2016, “Wazir” seems to be on the right track as the word of mouth of the film is also positive.
The mind triggering film Wazir’ lost out on family audiences because of its serious genre. The collections are expected to increase in the weekend.
Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan Akhtar starrer Wazir has done quite a decent job at the box office. The film now stands at the 12.73 crore mark and the way it is going, the weekend should end over the 21 crore mark. While producer and co-writer Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Bejoy have been giving combined interviews to promote Wazir, things were far from hunky-dory between the two while the film was being shot. The movie has had a disappointing number of audiences at the single screens but is witnessing growth in the multiplexes. The movie is said to be a dark thriller and the film has been shot in 120 days.
