We have plans for Yuvraj and Raina: Aaron Finch
With his position seemingly (there’s always room for a sacking or resignation) secure, India should use this series to move closer to deciphering their best XV (and best XI) for the World T20, something Team Director Ravi Shastri has already indicated that they will do, saying “I think every game form here on till the World T20 will be extremely important”. That he was back soon and also batted must indicate that the team wants him in the squad.
Raina said the team’s strength is its batting fire power and he cited performance in the ODI series, during which India posted two 300-plus totals and chased down a record 331 in the final clash. Where Australia have been good over the while is we’ve been able to take early wickets.
“But the beauty of having these three T20s against India and an ODI series in New Zealand and then three more T20s (in South Africa) is we’ve got some time for the guys who have got the first opportunity now to have first crack at it”.
Batsmen looked in great touch in all five ODI games and might carry that momentum against Australia for the upcoming T20 series. The two players will play a part in a format where they have established themselves as specialists. However, Indian team would be looking forward to make the most of the opportunity and clinch the T20 series.
He will have Steven Smith and David Warner for company but some of the other names in the line-up could well be those to watch out.
Darren Lehmann will be absent for Australia. Australia has this pattern happening: ‘If one doesn’t execute, another will.’ That’s nicely boiled-down towards the reality wherever his ODI lot was documented by youthful Mitchell Marsh.
Coach Darren Lehmann will also be missing.
Australia have gone to Shaun Tait because he gives them the pace.
“Look, I think India are much better balanced in T20 cricket; they have good top three batsmen, MS Dhoni is the finisher in the middle, Yuvraj (Singh) is coming too and then you have the spinners”. It’s a little bit of trial and error. Who better than his go-to-man Suresh Raina to fall back on?
Experienced batsman Yuvraj Singh has been recalled by India. Skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni had to come up with nearly the same answers everytime he was questioned after defeats. He’s got a proven record, a fabulous record in T20 cricket. He made 11 off 21 deliveries in a losing cause against Sri Lanka in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and has not featured for his country since. Much therefore rests on the shoulders of Harbhajan Singh, Yuvraj Singh and Ashish Nehra.
The tourists will have to do without seamer Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who fractured his thumb in the fourth ODI and has been replaced by Rishi Dhawan, per ESPN Cricinfo. Ajinkya Rahane has been ruled out of this first T20I, as he hasn’t sufficiently recovered from the split-webbing injury suffered in Canberra. “It is a balanced side, just not for ODIs in Australia”. If the sequence sweeps, they’ll vault with 120 details in the present 110 to number 1 place in ICC T20 ratings, while Australia may drop to amount ten with 110 factors in the present 118. “MS Dhoni stated that there have been way too many limitations that were simple. they receive like freebies although It’s not the batsman needs to generate it. That needs to be removed”. They are solid numbers, but at this stage the Queenslander may need something more spectacular to keep himself in the selectors’ thoughts.
It has now been proved how important are those final lethal blows, which have been absent throughout the series from Team India.
The inclusion of 36-year-old Ashish Nehra, the oldest player in either squad, in may seem like a odd one – he hasn’t played for India since 2011 and Geoffrey Boycott’s grandmother would be a better fielder – but his IPL successes justify his selection.
But, the experienced bowler had an impressive Indian Premier League campaign with the Chennai Super Kings in 2015, picking up 22 wickets in 10 matches while going at a respectable 7.24 runs per over.
