WEATHER FORECAST: Could today be the last hot day of the week?
Welcome back to school, when today’s high temperature will be near 86 degrees, according to a hot National Weather Service forecast. Look for a high near 84 and a low near 69.

Friday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 86.
Thursday: Scattered showers and thunderstorms after noon. A half inch is the likely average rainfall amount, but local totals will vary widely depending where the heaviest downpours develop.

This will bring us another chance for some rain and thunderstorms in the weather forecast during that time.
There’s still a chance of rain Monday and temperatures will again top out in the upper-60s.
Much cooler weather will follow, with highs rising from the 60s Friday through Sunday to the 70s next week.
Temperatures will be cooler Thursday, and highs should only climb to around 80. East wind 9 to 13 miles per hour.
Light south winds this morning will become southwest to west around 10 miles per hour.
Saturday night: Partly cloudy with a low around 57. Overnight, skies will be clear with a low of 51.
