Weather: More snow, sleet and freezing rain throughout the weekend
The advisory runs from 3 p.m. Friday until 9 a.m. Saturday.
“We are lucky it wasn’t two or three degrees cooler or we would have had several inches of freezing rain, an ice storm” Leighton said. North winds gusting up to 20 miles per hour could cause broken tree limbs and short duration power outages in areas of icing.
Drivers on the slick roadways are urged to take precautions.
Friday night will offer more of the same with temperatures dipping below freezing allowing for another thin layer of ice to accumulate by Saturday morning.
