Weather: Warm, wet afternoon expected
At 2:15 p.m., five intermittent bands of rain and storms stretched westward from southwest of Detroit to south-central Wisconsin.
The storms will leave behind a taste of early fall, with temperatures falling to the upper 50s Wednesday night.
Otherwise, the day will be mostly cloudy with temperatures a few degrees above normal, the weather service says.
The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center has issued a slight risk of severe weather.
Low pressure will track into Iowa by Tuesday evening with scattered showers and thunderstorms crossing West Michigan. Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing when possible and drink plenty of water. A widespread quarter to half inch of rain is possible across more of Iowa.
High pressure will bring some anticipated sunshine for our Thursday and last for the days ahead, just in time for our weekend plans! The high will be about 83.
Friday night: Clear with a low of about 58.
There is a 70 percent chance of thunderstorms during the daytime Wednesday when it will be much cooler with a high of 77.
Saturday: Sunny with a high near 78.
