Weather week: Sunny skies will turn to snow by Thanksgiving Day
By Thanksgiving, expect highs in the upper 50s under a mostly sunny sky and breezy conditions. Clear skies continue into Wednesday, with a high of 51 degrees and low of 44 degrees at night. Temperatures may barely reach into the 40s for the lowlands, with wind chills dipping into the teens and 20s for many areas. Tuesday’s highs will be in the upper-30s.
The average high temperature for the day is 48 degrees while the average low temperature is 32 degrees, according to weather service data going back to 1871. Becoming sunny on Sunday with lows in the mid 30s and highs near 50. The coastal and inland lows for Wednesday are expected to be in the low 50s, with low 40s in the mountains.
Rain will dry out by the afternoon for most inland areas while the coast will stay wet until the early evening hours.
The chance of rain is expected to increase to 40 percent for Thanksgiving Day Thursday when the high will be 61.
Wednesday marks the all-important travel day, and we have some good news if will be hitting the road ahead of the holiday. Below normal temperatures are expected to linger well into the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Temperatures will be moderating to near or above seasonal levels starting Monday afternoon.
NEXT WEEK: Showers look likely Monday, followed by cooler and drier air for the middle of the week.
Tomorrow will be mostly sunny, with some puffy clouds as a result of lake effect snow downwind of the Great Lakes.

Wednesday’s weather won’t be as bad with some light and scattered rain stretching from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula down to East Texas.
