Week 10 FanDuel Fantasy Football Highlights
Waiver wire options are limited with the playoffs quickly approaching, but fantasy owners may still be able to pick out a few hidden gems. You won’t want to start him next week against the Panthers; but after that, perhaps.
Here are five players you should consider singing off the waiver wire this week. We have answers to that question and more in our early waiver wire adds for Week 11.
Rejoice, for after this week, you will no longer have to deal with those pesky byes.
Tony Romo should be at the top of your list if you’re struggling with QB play. On average, the Broncos are giving up fewer than 20 points per contest, meaning you need to downgrade any Bears fantasy players on your team. Romo is on the short term injured reserve, but you may be wise to get him now before others.
Week 11 is the last of the byes but it is a big one with the Saints, Browns, Steelers and Giants all off. Cam Newton ($6,900) continues to roll and a matchup versus the Redskins should be no different.
As was the case with his predecessor, Case Keenum should not be on fantasy squads outside of the deepest leagues. The offense line is going to give him time to throw. The lifelong Patriot finishes the season with 61 catches, 692 yards, and seven touchdowns. I have said it over and over again, that Cutler is a fantasy stud. Since his return in week six he has not scored less than 17 fantasy points.
DEEP OPTION: Jay Ajayi, Dolphins (18% Owned): Don’t get hopes too high with Ajayi because Lamar Miller remains productive and is the man in Miami. His owner percentage continues to rise, and so does he.
Thornton has the potential to score in bunches and while there are only so many touches to go around for Rockets’ players, he has carved out a decent role coming off the bench for Houston this season. He travels to Seattle this week and follows that up with Arizona at home, by which time Carlos Hyde should be healthy and Draughn irrelevant.
This is an obvious one because of the injury to Julian Edelman. Amendola won’t put up the same statistics as Edelman, but he’s going to get a lot more balls thrown his way. Based upon that production, the Dolphins will be giving Ajayi more snaps in the future, and he already led the team with 48 rushing yards last week against the Philadelphia Eagles. He’s not quite startable in standard leagues yet, but the rookie is a must-add handcuff for Miller owners. Chicago defeated St. Louis 37-13. McCluster found the end zone last week, while Antonio Andrews was completely ineffective. You either have one or you don’t. Newton has continued to put up big numbers this year despite playing with arguably the worst receiving corps in the NFL, Carolina now ranks 28th in the league in passing yards.
The Ravens lost their No. 1 target in wide receiver Steve Smith, which means more targets for Gillmore, and the matchup is good in Week 11 against a St. Louis Rams team that allowed 107 receiving yards and two touchdowns to the position Sunday. His fourth TD pass came in the third quarter, making him the third straight signal caller to reach that number against this Saints defense, following in the footsteps (airwaves?) of Eli Manning (6) and Marcus Mariota (4).
Players worth a top claim this week include Romo, Amendola, Floyd, and Aiken.
