Week 11 Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em
In PPR leagues especially, the injury-prone veteran can be a solid proxy for Edelman. (Some other reccos: Danny Woodhead, Demaryius Thomas). Andy Reid’s offense is conservative and with Charcandrick West showing he can carry the load, Kelce is relegated to the back seat. The dude touched the ball twenty-seven times in Week 10. In fact, West did better against the Broncos than any other RB so far this season. Jones has become a more dependable back than Alfred Morris, who has been a fantasy disappointment this season.
Cowboys RB Darren McFadden (@ MIA) – Don’t let last week’s 1.9 ypc scare you off, because the Cowboys have nobody else to hand the ball off to if McFadden is active.
The waiver wire is absolutely critical for Fantasy Football owners everywhere. West has been efficient as the starter for the Chiefs and should continue to do so against an abysmal run defense. This week, Julian Edelman and Peyton Manning, two more fantasy stalwarts, went down with injuries that will sideline them for weeks. Watkins has a few bust potential here, but he’s also a big play waiting to happen.
Andy – I’m gonna pass on ANDY DALTON at $35, thanks. Neither has a particularly high ceiling or must play against matchup.
Dalton – DEANDRE HOPKINS ($32).
Tony Romo should be at the top of your list if you’re struggling with QB play.
Ladd Biro is a two-time victor and four-time finalist of the Football Writer of the Year Award by the Fantasy Sports Writers Association. A final tally around 5-55-0 is in my forecast.
Despite the hard matchup with Denver in Week 11, Cutler’s exceeded point-projections for the last five games with 11 touchdown passes to only three interceptions.
Andy – Sure, I’ll take the OVER. While the Dolphins are still leaning on Miller, they have also never fed him 20 carries in a game, which leaves the door open for Ajayi to pick up regular double-digit touches down the stretch. I would stay away from all Colts offensive players until Luck returns, if possible. If you want to roster him, you’re counting on the Chargers continuing to be friendly to TEs in the red zone (4 TDs in the last three weeks to TEs).
Doug Martin, who’s slipped in recent weeks, combined yards at Philly 89.5. Andy Dalton and A.J. Green are still decent options – and it’s tough to bench a TE like Tyler Eifert, even after last week – but neither of Cincinnati’s backs are “must-starts”. Romo hasn’t seen a live defense in more than 2 months.
Each week throughout the season, I will pose five of the week’s most intriguing fantasy questions to a rotating panel of experts from ESPN, ESPN fantasy and NFL Nation. Taylor has the chance to put up another huge game as they will have to keep pace with the high scoring Patriots. He is coming off one of his best games of the season, running for 61 yards and a touchdown on five carries.
Brad – OVER. Yes, he’s sloughed the past couple weeks, but game flow and increased dependence on Adrian Peterson explain the sudden drop-off. The Lions have given a few wide receivers big games this season and look for Crabtree to do the same this week. What we don’t know if whether or not Austin Seferian-Jenkins is going to play.
I mean, Zach Miller was the 10th highest scorer of the week in standard leagues. Grab him if he’s available, as he has a lot of ground to make up with Dez Bryant & Co.
The Case for Ryan: With the weapons he has at his disposal, you would think Ryan would rank among the league’s best in touchdown passes. Well if you can cover Mike Evans, good chance you will win, if you don’t, the oh well. So long as Tom Brady is under center, however, the offense isn’t likely to slow down.
Dalton – COBB. I actually have them ranked back-to-back this week, so this is a toss up for me.
With that being said, there are a number of plays, DFS theory concepts and matchups I’m excited to exploit this week. Davonte Adams had 21 targets last week.
Andy – I’ll take COBB, because he’s the superior player, capable of lining up anywhere. He’s coming off a weirdly quiet 21-target week, but you have to like the workload. Once again all the quarterback picks scored over 16 points with Joe Flacco leading the trio with a score of 20.34. Gore is gonna do Gore things. The latter should have posted a bigger game if he didn’t misplay at least two of his targets. Using Johnny Manziel vs. the Steelers seems more foolish than contrarian, so you’ll want to look at each individual situation, but the basic strategy remains the same for future use. In the two games that Hasselbeck has started, he has averaged 15 points a game and no turnovers.
Andy – UNDER, by 0.5.
We all need to take notice to the season Jay Cutler is having. One would have thought that Antonio Brown would have had a fabulous day, which he did, but so did Martavis Bryant as he had 6 catches for 178 yards and a touchdown.
Fill in the blank. Whether it’s injuries disrupting projected game scripts or a coach’s irrational game planning, the NFL is an unpredictable league.
No super long story this week. While Amendola may not have the ceiling of the player he is replacing, but he makes for a fine bargain play this week against a Bills pass defense that is best attacked in the short areas in a “death by a thousand paper cuts” approach.
