Wenger bemoans international break after Ramsey ruled out for a month
The Gunners revived their Champions League hopes in thrilling fashion on Tuesday by netting a crucial 2-0 win over Bayern Munich at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says strikers Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud will be rotated this season. After making his senior Everton debut in May, Galloway – with the likes of Leighton Baines sidelined – has gone on to feature in nine out of 11 games for the Toffees this term, as well as being involved with England Under-21s.
“Before, maybe, when we were not dominating completely the game, we were a bit insecure”.
But the Arsenal boss said he had not called Coleman: “No, I can not call every national coach after every game to ask him not to play the players”.
Wenger is confident his side – who sit second in the table, two points off the pace – can maintain their momentum for what would be a fourth-straight top-flight victory.
But amid all the positivity, Arsenal have also been handed an injury blow.
While Arsenal should still be full of confidence, Everton will go into the contest on the back of a chastening defeat.
Arteta encountered Kendall on many occasions during his six-year stay at the club before moving to the Emirates in 2011.
He said: “I am resolute to commit absolutely until the last day of my contract to bring back big success to this club”. What line-up would you like to see start?
The Frenchman further added that it is vital for teams at the highest level to mantain consistency. We’ll have to do it probably in one of the hardest arenas in the league, against one of the hardest opponents.
Walcott added: ” That (next Champions League tie in Munich) is a long way ahead, there are a lot of games coming up before that game, but again we believe we can beat anyone.
Recent history provides little encouragement for Everton.
Like Wenger, Everton boss Roberto Martinez also focused on his side’s mentality before kick-off, warning his players they would have to adjust their mindset if they were to bring an end to their dismal away record at Arsenal and other top clubs.
Midfielder Tom Cleverley could return to action this afternoon after he recovered from an ankle knock.
