Wenger confirms Rosicky has new injury, denies Wilshere setback
Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere could be set to miss the rest of the season through injury, according to Arseblog – via the Telegraph.
Fans were left fearing the worst when speculation on Monday suggested the midfielder had suffered yet another setback that supposedly put Wilshere’s entire season in jeopardy as well as his participation in this summer’s European Championships.
This will come as a big blow to the Gunners, with central midfield duo Santi Cazorla and Jack Wilshere still out injured.
The Frenchman also revealed that Tomas Rosicky and Francis Coquelin are now back in contention, while Danny Welbeck will play in upcoming fixtures with the under-21s side ahead of a full return to the first team.
However, the French manager has now confirmed the England global is still a while off returning to the first-team, with his hopes of a Euro 2016 squad place beginning to dwindle.
“He is looking food and I have spoken to Roy Hodgson about him to reassure him he’s progressing well. I’m cautious but I will say (he will be back in) four weeks”.
“We have learnt something this season, we went to Sheffield Wednesday in the League Cup and got quite a severe defeat”. That looks to be very soon, maybe this week.
“He needs to adjust to the power of the game in the Premier League, but this was a good welcome today and certainly he has learned a lot”. Wilshere then underwent surgery in September and Wenger admitted in December that February would be the earliest that he could be available.
