Were Trump’s Words To Macron’s Wife Sleazy?

President Donald Trump will be meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron (eh-mahn-yoo-EHL’ mah-KROHN’) as part of his visit to France for Bastille Day celebrations in Paris.

During the shake, the two leaders begin walking hand-in-hand in the direction of the cameras while their wives remain off to either side.

They talk for a few seconds with hands still clenched tight before Brigitte is brought into the equation.

Trump and Macron gripped each other Friday after watching the French National Day Parade with Macron’s wife, Brigitte, and Trump’s wife, Melania.

She kisses Trump, while he is still shaking her husband’s hand.

While frequently and publicly commenting on women’s looks may be par for the course for a man who runs beauty pageants, many Americans continue to express dismay that Trump has retained the habit as a leader representing the United States on the world stage.

About eight seconds in, Trump appears to have adjusted his grip on Macron’s hand, shifting from a traditional handshake into more of an arm-wrestling grip. Thought that would be the low point of the France visit? Macron, a staunch advocate of research to combat global warming, has beckoned “all responsible citizens”, including American scientists and researchers, to bring their fight against climate change to France. He repeatedly and publicly shows us that he thinks women exist on this planet for the sole objective of his aesthetic judgement and pleasure.
