West Ham not selling striker Carroll – Bilic
West Ham will return to Premier League action when they take on Bournemouth away from home on Tuesday night.
Allardyce was concentrating his resources on the relegation battle but with West Ham now flying high in sixth, Bilic can turn his attentions to bringing a first FA Cup in 36 years to east London.
Well, although the former England global may not quite represent everyone’s preferred cup of tea when everything is said and done, no one can discredit Carroll’s efficiency inside the final third when things are admittedly going well for the player in question.
Peterborough beat Preston 2-0, Watford held on 1-0 against Newcastle and Sheffield Wednesday beat Fulham 2-1 at Hillsborough, but Middlesbrough failed to justify odds-on quotes at home to Burnley as they crashed out of the cup following a 2-1 defeat.
Bilic’s men have conceded just three goals in their last seven games and are only four points outside the Champions League places in sixth in the Premier League.
“We see the FA Cup as an opportunity to progress”.
Slaven Bilic’s West Ham are unbeaten in seven games and the hammers are flying at the moment having won their last two and in the process playing some of their best football of the season.
Bilic knows all about fan anger after an FA Cup defeat with West Ham. “The only way to stop the rumours is to play badly”.
“Nobody at the club wants to sell him, he’s a very good player”. But the Croation looked well off the pace for most of the game, as did some of his team-mates. “We coped well with the injury situation, but we don’t want to be in that position again”.
