West Ham’s Diafra Sakho arrested on suspicion of assault, criminal damage
West Ham United striker Diafra Sakho has been arrested.
But he played in the team that won 2-0 at Arsenal in West Ham’s opening Premier League fixture last weekend and Bilic suggested he would keep his place against Leicester on Saturday.
He was bailed and is set to return to the station at a date towards the end of next month.
“Officers from Tower Hamlets have arrested a man on suspicion of domestic assault”.
“The 25-year-old was arrested on Thursday, 6 August at an address in Emerson Park, Hornchurch“.
The Senegal global was held by the police on suspicion of attacking a woman – presumably a girlfriend – but was shortly released after a bail was posted to a September date.
Sakho joined West Ham in August last year and has scored 10 goals for the team in 24 appearances.
Bilic admitted he was concerned about the striker’s situation but insisted Sakho was training as normal ahead of the Premier League fixture at Upton Park.
Elsewhere, Morgan Amalfitano’s future is in real doubt – it looks likely he will be bombed out of the club following a training ground bust-up.

Bilic has now confirmed that talks were ongoing, saying: “Well, we were thinking about Joey”. It was not brawling in front of players. But after that we decided and Joey also not to do it.
“He’s not in the first team any more and that is it”, he said. He is a good lad and we wish him well. This was just a quiet meeting between the two of us where I explained the situation.
