West Ham striker Carroll to miss Swansea clash – Bilic
Although Carroll’s problem is only thought to be minor, it will be a major concern for the West Ham boss, who already has Dimitri Payet, Winston Reid, Victor Moses, Diafra Sakho and Manuel Lanzini missing from action.
West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic says his players are positive about getting a result against Swansea City on Sunday (December 20) despite failing to pick up a win in their last three games.
Alistair Mann: “Last week’s heart-breaking defeat at Manchester City effectively summed up Swansea’s recent fortunes”. We’re going to see him today. That’s why I’m really confident for Sunday’s game against Swansea but we need to keep that team spirit especially when players start to come back.
“Intriguingly, visitors West Ham are also without a victory in their last six games, yet with most of their best displays coming on their travels, they will represent awkward opponents for a Swansea side without a home win since August”. “Sometimes they showed good quality going forward but they were open at the back”, Bilic said.
“It’s nothing major. The scan showed a little bit of a problem”.
“We need to be as compact and as good as them on the day”.
