West Ham welcome Andy Carroll and Winston Reid back from injury
Slaven Bilic calls on West Ham United fans to give former manager Sam Allardyce a warm reception when he returns to Upton Park with Sunderland on Saturday.
Sunderland have been boosted by recent injury absentees Younes Kaboul (foot), Jan Kirchhoff (hamstring) and Sebastian Larsson (knee) participating in full training this week, but Jeremain Lens (hernia) is still expected to be missing.
But the defender has now shaken off his ankle injury and could be included in the squad on Saturday.
The Hammers have won seven and lost just one of the last 10 Premier League home games against the Black Cats.
West Ham Head of Medical and Sports Science, Stijn Vandenbroucke, hopes Winston Reid, Diafra Sakho, Enner Valencia and Andy Carroll could all feature for the Hammers this week. He had a 31% win percentage rate compared to new boss Slaven Bilic who has won 38% of his games in charge.
“At the time it was a big decision (between West Ham and Everton) and I had a few sleepless nights but a month in I don’t think it could have gone better”.
Byram looked set to move to the Toffees in January before West Ham stole in to sign the 22-year-old in a £3.7million deal.
“But it’s not about the opponents, it’s about West Ham and Upton Park, but Man U makes it a little bit special”.
“Sunderland are very organised, they are showing not only the quality, but the character”.
West Ham have mustered the most attempts (10) and goals (3) from throw-ins this season.
Sunderland have conceded the joint-most penalties in the Premier League this season along with Norwich City (7).
