West Ham Won’t Be Sacking Manager Slaven Bilic
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger hailed talisman Alexis Sanchez following the Chilean international’s scintillating display against West Ham United.
SLAVEN Bilic cut a forlorn figure after his West Ham United side were on the wrong end of a 5-1 Premier League hammering at the hands of an impressive Arsenal outfit at the London Stadium.
After setting up Mesut Ozil for the opening goal in the 24th minute, Sanchez then made the match his own.
“Certainly much better than a year ago”.
But I have to be honest and say we dont have the intensity and from the dedication comes the quality.
“He’s quick, he can dribble, and he has the killer instinct”. “You have to acknowledge that”.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain curled in Arsenal’s fourth goal before Sanchez completed his hat-trick with a clever dink over Randolph after racing through alone. “He’s like Sergio Aguero in many ways”, Oxlade-Chamberlain told the BBC.
“When he wins the ball in your half he has that power to get you out”. Yes, we had injuries and mistakes, but we were not good enough.
Against West Ham United, Arsenal were very almost back to their scintillating best.
There was a minor scare when Wenger admitted Sanchez had a small problem with his back at half time, but Wenger shrugged it off saying: “He actually looked stronger in the second half than in the first”.
For now though, Cascarino only has him in third place, with Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero in second spot while former Liverpool star Luis Suarez remains the top dog. And Wenger acknowledged that Sanchez seems to be enjoying himself more on the pitch in that role.
Ayew came on first as West Ham continued to fight back, but Arsenal held firm and the Hammers were two down before Carroll had even entered the fray. He likes the position.
“When they walk home with the ball under their arm it is a good feeling”. I am very optimistic and will never give up.
At least with score at 0-1 the goalie has to make a double save in an attempt to keep his side in the game following Monreal (Nacho) low cross into the box.
Bilic said: “He’s a player that offers something special, he is one of the reasons why we were so prolific last season in front of goal, why we were so versatile, so unsafe, why we scored so many goals and why we finished so high”.
But we know from the kind of players Bilic was linked with in the summer and those he ended up with that West Ham hardly pushed the boat out.
