Westworld HBO Series News: Everything You Need to Know
The Westworld trailer arrived with the True Detective season 2 finale, and you probably want to watch it and not be reading this, right?
HBO’s upcoming Westworld TV series debuted a few photos and scant teases of footage to date, even amid a bit of cast turnover, but at last, the park is finally open. Based on a classic Michael Crichton sci-fi film (which we wrote about in detail right here), this is more than just a Westworld remake, it’s a reimagining of the entire concept. Abrams and longtime Abrams collaborator Bryan Burk. HBO’s take was created by Jonathan Nolan (brother of Christopher), who is also the executive producer alongside J.J. The production companies include Bad Robot Productions, Jerry Weintraub Productions and Kilter Films in association with Warner Bros. Kathy Lingg will co-EP and Athena Wickham is a producer on the drama. HBO ordered “Westworld” to series last November. The trailer’s on-air bow comes a few weeks after it was first unspooled at Comic-Con, during the panel for Nolan’s CBS drama Person of Interest and after which HBO released first-look images.
For those unfamiliar with the original 1973 Yul Brynner-James Brolin film, Westworld told the story of a future resort wherein guests pay to live out time period fantasies brought to life by sophisticated human-like androids, before the robots began malfunctioning and killing the resort’s crew.
