The city of Knoxville lit the Henley Bridge the color teal Thursday night for ovarian cancer awareness.

Turn The Towns Teal is a national campaign to promote awareness of ovarian cancer and its subtle symptoms.
Berkowitz said she and Adam had been family friends for more than 30 years and knew Epic Fitness enjoyed organizing events with groups such as the Boys & Girls Club of Simi Valley and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
The earlier the diagnosis the better the prognosis, Danaher said. “We want to spread the word and bring attention and focus to the disease so people can get closer to early diagnosis”.
According to WIU Women’s Center director Janine Cavicchia, this is the fourth year the Women’s Center has coordinated Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month activities. “It was as if everyone knew someone who had ovarian cancer”. Proceeds from Thursday’s event go to the Coalition’s mission of educating women in the Midlands about ovarian cancer.
