What Happened In Las Vegas During The Dem Debate That Hillary WON’T
In the four most recent previous statewide polls, averaged by RealClearPolitics, the Vermont senator had led Clinton, 39% to 30%.
While a few believe Clinton could be the best option Democrats have, a few of her supporters at the rally said they hope she’ll focus on other issues affecting Americans. And the part of the Democratic Party that doesn’t live in Iowa or New Hampshire will find little in this debate to dissuade them from supporting Clinton when the time comes. “And that is that the American people are sick and exhausted of hearing about your damn emails!”. Clinton challenged Sanders on the topic of gun control, arguing that he has not gone far enough to promote gun-safety measures.
Sanders noted his D-minus rating from the National Rifle Association, but Clinton drew blood when she highlighted his vote to protect gun manufacturers from any liability when killings occur.
Sanders and his primary opponent, Hillary Clinton, spent the night volleying various viewpoints on issues like the economy, the climate, and money in politics.
The post Bernie Sanders dominated Google during the CNN debate appeared first on Business Insider.
Meanwhile in New Hampshire, Jeb Bush told a town hall that Sanders was “just warming up” when it came to tax and spending proposals. 83% of Democratic audiences – and about half of Republicans who watched – approve of how Anderson Cooper and his colleagues moderated the event.
The five candidates running for the Democratic nomination for the presidential election faced off Tuesday night at the party’s first debate in Las Vegas, Nev.
“Online poll: Was the CNN #DemDebate rigged in favor of Hillary Clinton?” he tweeted Friday, referencing a Daily Caller sampling that shows 98 percent answering “yes”.
“I even turned around to Bernie Sanders at one point and said, Bernie, say my name, will you?”
His words drew a heartfelt “thank you” from Clinton, who reached out to shake hands with the self-described democratic socialist.
Those people learning about Sanders obviously liked what they saw and heard because he raised .3 million in the aftermath of the debate.
Sanders’ haul is a testament to the uncomfortably close nature of the year’s primary contest for the Clinton campaign, as her challenger has had much greater success attracting small donors.
