‘What Is Cupine?’ — Steve Harvey’s Funniest ‘Family Feud’ Moments Of All Time
FOR almost two minutes, Miss Columbia Ariadna Gutierrez basked in the glory of winning Miss Universe 2015.
The real victor was Miss Philippines, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, who looked astonished by the sudden turn of events.
“To me, our queen is and will remain Miss Universe”.
Miss Colombia, left, has been gracious in defeat. “Universal Error”, another newspaper called her on their front page.
Steve Harvey was able to apologise to Miss Universe in person – amid claims that he’d been drinking and gambling before the crowning. “I’d never been loyal, I’d never been fully respected”, he said in a magazine interview in 2012.
In fact, more than 26,000 people believe that the Miss Universe 2015 crown should be taken back from Miss Philippines and given to Miss Colombia again. She said she tried to approach her backstage, but the Colombian contestant was crying and surrounded by a crowd of women.
But just seconds later he tweeted: “For us, you’ll always be our Miss Universe. I’m so sorry to say it”. Harvey said she’d be taking her first walk as Miss Universe, but mostly she stood immobile.
The show closed with a painful shot of Colombia’s Ariadna Gutierrez Arevalo having the crown taken from her head and given to Miss Philippines, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach. “Majority went over to Miss Colombia, because they knew her heart was breaking”.
“Remember when I lost to Floyd last May, she made a promise to all of us Filipinos that she will avenge that defeat comes the Miss Universe pageant which she just has fulfilled”.
Aside from his wife, Steve also got much-needed support from National Basketball Association legend Earvin “Magic” Johnson, who told him to “keep the faith and keep going strong”.
However some journalists blamed Trump for the blunder, saying they could find no financial record confirming that he had indeed sold the rights to the pageant.
But one Twitter user in particular had a fire in his belly over Harvey’s mistake.
“You go through this complete high and your entire family, your town is all celebrating, wishing you congratulations”, Garrido told CNN after the story broke.
“I had to ask my [manager] many times like, ‘Did I really win?”
