What the Hell Is the Condom Challenge?
Say what you want about teenagers on the Internet, but social media is increasingly becoming a powerful tool for encouraging (or at least attempting) people to participate in social good. The challenge involves dropping a tied-off condom filled with water on the head of another person usually seated on the edge of a bathtub.
The videos are hilarious because, unlike a regular water balloon, condoms stretch to accommodate the water, allowing the balloons to remain intact as they fall and cover the victim’s head.
However, as early as now, some people including other teens have already expressed their concern when it comes to the safety of the challenge.
It was beginning to feel odd that the Internet hadn’t come up with something ridiculous to do, but now it seems they were just prepping to release their latest stunt that has spread like an bad Justin Bieber song that you can’t help but to quietly hum while hoping no one hears: the condom challenge. If it’s done correctly, the condom will retain the water and enclose the person’s head. Only back then, challenge participants were suppose to snort a rubber up one nostril as far as it could possibly go. And then there’s the cinnamon challenge.
People are taking to social media to take part in the “condom challenge”… and the results are pretty amusing. Huffington Post warns that “covering your mouth and nose with an airtight seal can be potentially unsafe and probably shouldn’t be done”.
