What TV Channel Is the NHL Skills Competition On Tonight?
Individual champions also will be crowned.
The skills competition is comprised of six events, including the fastest skater, breakaway challenge, shooting accuracy, skills challenge relay, hardest shot and the shootout.
Team captains Alex Ovvechkin, Jarmor Jagr, John Scott and Patrick Kane will select their teams from the 40 remaining skaters and they’ll compete in half a dozen on-ice events.
Jagr, who was voted by fans as captain of the Atlantic Division team, and Tavares, picked as the Metropolitan Division captain, will be on the East entry in the accuracy shooting competition. Tavares will be one of the shooters for the East, along with Patrice Bergeron, Evgeni Malkin and Claude Giroux (Ed. note: Jeeeeesus Christ), while Jagr will be one of the passers, setting those guys up alongside Niklas Backstrom (Ed. note 2: see Ed. note 1).
Gatorade NHL Skills Challenge Relay: “Yes, this is the one with those little nets”.
Sharks defenseman Brent Burns donned a Chewbacca mask over his bearded face while Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban dressed up with a black wig and Panthers jersey as he did his best Jaromir Jagr impression. Drew Doughty of the Los Angeles Kings and Vladimir Tarasenko of the St. Louis Blues will be the passers. Scott was assigned to the American Hockey League by Montreal.
During the AMP NHL Hardest Shot challenge, Shea Weber proved once again that he reigns supreme with a speed of 108.1 miles per hour.
Bridgestone NHL Fastest Skater: “Pretty simple here”. He’ll be facing off against Taylor Hall of the Edmonton Oilers, Roman Josi of the Nashville Predators, and Matt Duchene of the Colorado Avalanche. Because the East team won the skills competition, they got to choose if they would play the first 20-minute game or the second, and they chose the first.
Here’s what the Caps’ three all stars will be up to tonight.
