According to the document obtained by TMZ, the legendary wrestler had pulmonary embolism – a blood clot – which triggered his fatal heart attack.
Wrestling Hall of Famer “Rowdy” Roddy Piper (whose real name was Roderick George Toombs) passed away earlier this month due to a heart attack in his sleep.
Piper’s death certificate, which TMZ has posted, can be seen here. Roddy suffered from hypertension for years, resulting in chronic high blood pressure.
