What We Know About the Syrian Refugees

(CNN)The terrorist attacks in Paris showed the world just how vulnerable a free society can be.

Young adults, parents, and children gathered in solidarity with one request: welcome refugees. That is why the House of Representatives passed a bill last week that would pause the Syrian refugee program until we can be certain no one coming here is a threat to our country. The danger of a terrorist attack on our soil is legitimate and sobering.

But Lavinia Limon, president and CEO of the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigration, has the Associated Press that under the Refugee Act of 1980, governors can not legally block refugees.
