What Will Fall’s Windows 10 Update Bring?

The main focus of the update is on cross-device experiences. The new version will bring enhanced integration of desktop computers and smartphones. However, the entire planned redesign won’t launch with the Fall update, only major portions of it.

The design also supports input of touch, handwriting, voice, gaze and gestures – in addition to the traditional keyboard and mouse. It basically contains 5 elements of design system: Light, Depth, Motion, Material, Scale.

This is what was known as “Project Neon”, Microsoft’s apparent redesign of the Windows 10 interface. The company needs apps for this to work, which is why it’s announced Acer and HP-made Windows Mixed Reality Headset Developer Edition units priced at $299 and $329, respectively. The update is scheduled for the late September 2017. It leverages Microsoft’s Translation APIs to translate content in 10 different languages including English, French, German, Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, Russian and Portuguese, among others.
