Whataburger will apologize to officers for refusing to serving police
According to a local Fox affiliate, officers Michael Magovern and Cameron Beckham stopped by the location while working night shifts at a nearby construction site.
Two police officers said that workers at a North Texas Whataburger refused to serve them Tuesday evening. But before they could order, the man working the counter told them, “We don’t serve police officers”.
The officers thought the employee was joking. They opted to go to Dairy Queen instead, FOX 4 reported.
Whataburger responded on Twitter saying, “We would never condone this action and this is completely unacceptable”. “As soon as we heard of this isolated incident we began our own internal investigation”. The company said it would apologize to the police officers in person to “make this right”.
Employees of the Lewisville Whataburger could not be reached for comment.
Magovern says that he knows Whataburger, as a company, to be very supportive of law enforcement. “This was a single location, employee with a problem issue”.
“We’ve seen it on social media”. Denied service to police officers in Lewisville, TX.
Magovern’s regularly works for the Strawn City Marshall’s Office and Beckham works for the Milford Police Department. The officers went to another fast-food restaurant down the street to pick up something to eat.
They have agreed to meet with Whataburger corporate officials later today.
