WhatsApp for iOS Gets Video Chat Backup, Location Sharing, and More
This update for the app brought some new features like improvized VoiceOver support, video chats backup and directly sharing the location to WhatsApp and few others. This can be tinkered with in the “Chats and calls” section of the “Settings” menu.
Users can also reduce their data usage when WhatsApp is used for making calls under settings > chats and calls.
The listing of the app states that there is an improvised design to crop the videos and images, much more better support for the VoiceOver.
WhatsApp Messenger 2.12.5 is now available in the App Store on iTunes for all iPhone users running Apple’s iOS mobile operating system. A small but useful feature is that you won’t have to tap on “Load Earlier Messages” in order to see the older messages.
The users can now use videos in their chat backup. When they are sharing a location, it will appear as a large thumbnail.
WhatsApp updated its iOS app on Wednesday adding several new features that were rolled out to Android users less than a month ago.
Users will be also able to directly share contacts from the Contacts app. In the meanwhile, locations from Apple Maps can now be shared to WhatsApp directly.
The features are rolling out to iOS, but don’t seem to have made an appearance on Android just yet.
