WhatsApp to bring back its text-only status feature
Facebook isn’t going to give up cloning Snapchat’s best-known feature anytime soon.
That resulted in a quick turnaround from WhatsApp and a compromise that involved keeping both functionalities. The feature had not generated much excitement among the WhatsApp user base. While there is no news on when and if at all the feature will be rolled out globally, Facebook has been expanding its test to include more countries, reported The Next Web. It had just begun to serve up ads in the News Feed on the desktop site, but hadn’t yet begun to do so on mobile.
