When Bengaluru college students stumped Rahul Gandhi
Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi had a tough time on Wednesday during his interaction with girl students of Mount Carmel College in Bengaluru.
Today Rahul Gandhi (Congress Vice President) criticised PM Narendra Modi’s style of governance. Rahul tried for the third time, again receiving a mixed response, clearly not what he had hoped for! “Okay. I don’t see Swachh Bharat working”, Gandhi replied.
Surprised at the audience’s response, Rahul asked again,”So, you think Swachh Bharat is working?” Again, he got a louder “Yes” than “No”.
Stumped he asked, “You see it working?” “You think youngsters in India are getting jobs?” he asked.
Continuing his offensive against the Centre, Rahul Gandhi said that corruption in the Narendra Modi government would be out in the open very soon. On Swachh Bharat, half the room said it worked, half said it didn’t.
During the question and answer session, Rahul Gandhi said that “suit-boot” government was failing on all fronts. He was left completely speechless by the vociferous endorsement of Modi’s two pet schemes by the young girls of the college.
He said government had to accept the fact that Congress “sits in Parliament”, “Congress has a view” and “Congress has 20 per cent hope” (referring to the people’s mandate). On Make in India, he added that most said no, some said yes.
After this the Congress Vice-President threw another question at the students.
# Conversation is important, out of conversation comes out a refined perspective. Are we serious? Clean your country is a strategic national government programme?
# We are not stalling Parliament just for the sake of stalling Parliament. For the alienation of north-east, he blamed the Modi government for withdrawing special status category to these states.
He obviously had a very rough landing at Mount Carmel College, Bangalore.
