When is Election Day 2016?
During early voting, registered Sullivan County voters may cast their ballot at any of those three locations.
Pollwatchers can keep a list of those who show up to vote and challenge a voter’s qualifications to vote for permitted reasons that are limited to identity (they aren’t who they say they are) or residency (they don’t live in that voting precinct.). And while a hacker could try to sneak into a warehouse or polling place to tamper with the hardware, Feaser says his county’s almost 500 machines get thoroughly checked out and then get numbered security seals before they are delivered to polling places.
Early voting will take place from October 19 to November 3 from 8 a.m.to 6 p.m.
It’s open the last two Saturdays before election day from 8 am to 4 pm, and the last two Sundays from 1 pm to 5 pm.
“I just thought it would be a good time just to come out here early and get it over with”, said Teddy Murphy, who’s voting in his first presidential election. And in OH, we can see places like Cuyahoga where Cleveland is and Franklin where Columbus is.
The building is handicapped-friendly and wheelchairs will be available for use.
Early voting in North Carolina was extended an extra week as part of the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals decision in July, which also threw out numerous provisions in the state’s voter registration law that were deemed to be discriminatory.
Sorenson said residents can print out absentee ballot applications from the county elections website, then fill it out and drop it off at the elections office.
Knotts said voters should not be hesitant to vote early out of fear it is different or less impactful than doing so on Election Day. “Every day we just get many, many phone calls asking us about the dates and the hours”, she said. While most elections have their share of glitches, experts worry conditions are ripe this year for trouble at the nation’s polling places.
Nearly 1.5 million people have already cast a ballot in the upcoming election, according to the United States Elections Project.

Voting will be 8 a.m.to 5 p.m. All early voting is done at the Election Commission, 300 Pageant Lane.
Once early voting starts anybody can go to a one-stop location, register to vote and cast their ballot all in the same day.
